To Our Environment

Where would we be without recyclers? Our neighborhoods and landfills would be overflowing with reusable materials. Our natural resources would be sqaundered repeatedly. Our energy levels would be significantly reduced. Recyclers maintain vitality, purity, and sustainability for this world in which we all live. Recyclers make it all possible.

Neil Goldberg speaks about the importance of recycling

Recycling transforms society’s outdated and obsolete products into useful raw materials needed for new production.  GMR Recyclers is proud to be part of this effort.  Recyclers save both energy and natural resources, thus having a much more positive effect on the environment. By purchasing products at the end of their life-cycle and processing them back into raw materials used in the manufacture of new products, recycling reduces the need for virgin materials, such as iron ore, trees, and other natural resources.

Recycling reduces greenhouse gas emissions by significantly saving the amount of energy needed to manufacture the products that we use. Additionally, the energy saved by recycling can then be used for more important purposes, such as heating our homes and powering automobiles. Overall, recycling maintains a steady supply of sustainable raw materials for manufacturers worldwide and this, as we all know it, is vital to the success and growth of our global economy.

Additionally, recycling reduces a range of pollutants from entering the air and water. By decreasing the need to extract and process new raw materials from the earth, recycling can eliminate the pollution associated with the initial stages of a product’s development.

GMR annually recycles over 700 million pounds of recyclable material. The scrap recycling industry as a whole transforms more than 300 billion pounds of obsolete materials from consumers, businesses and manufacturers into useful new materials every year.
